Cala Mia is a beautiful "Escape"

Cala Mia consists of 11 beautiful Bungalows/suites, each with its
own thatched roof rancho and all within 10 meters from the Pacific
Ocean or the beach/bay-side.Furniture, materials and woodwork are
home designed and handcrafted by local artisans blending estetics,
art, quality and functionality into a new standard!.
The
bar-restaurant is built on the highest point of a small peninsula
for breathtaking views of surrounding islands and bays and views of
the resort’s private beach and the 180 degrees infinitive edge
freshwater pool.
A
small island, accessible by hanging-bridge, houses a spa, and yoga
exercise area.
Cala Mia as a true Eco-Resort is also an "Escape" into nature where
you will find and experience birds, monkeys, dolphins, turtles and
much more.
An
entirely solar powered resort, Cala Mia offers a truly "Green" and
enviromentally friendly atmosphere.
Catering to an ecologically and socially aware clientele, we here in
Cala Mia realize there are certain responsibilities towards the
earth and its people. (we organize some programs to support
indigenous people: 5% off your roomrate is dedicated to this!) So
Cala Mia is not designed and made to become a “hot spot” for
Bush-lovers!!
Bungalow Suites
The Bungalow Suites at Cala Mia are all
designed as a small and elegant home; Each of the 11 Bungalow Suites
has its own "rancho" seating area, with a beautiful thatched roof,
handcrafted columns, large sofa and hammocks, and a nicely decorated
bathroom with a large hot water shower.
All the Suites are less than 10 meters from
the sea, with a wonderful view of the ocean and of the beautiful
bays, islands, and surrounding nature. Some of them even have
private access to the beaches.
Furniture, furnishings, etc. are specially
designed by and for us, and made by local artists and artisans, with
utmost care for detail. The airy suites are located in such a way
that they take utmost advantage of the permanent fresh evening
breezes, making its ceiling-fans almost superfluous.
All Bungalow-Suites are similar in size but
vary in lay-out:
One-bedroom with
double twin-size beds.
One-bedroom with
king-size bed.
Two-bedroom with 1
king-size bed and 2 twin-size beds.
LOCATION
Cala Mia is located on the virtually
uninhabited island of Boca Brava in the Archipielago of
Chiriqui, which is part of the National Marina Park in the golf
of Chiriqui. It has over 100 islands within its boundaries with
innumerable secluded beaches!
The park is a refuge for an abundance of
wildlife with, -on the forest-covered islands-: howler monkeys,
ocelots, margays, jaguarundis, raccoons, ant-eaters, coyotes; in
the bays and ocean: leatherback and hawksbill turtles, dolphins,
whales and a wide variety of other tropical fishes and in the
deep blue skies: birds, birds, birds! Hundreds of species, a
cross-road between 2 continents!
How to get to Cala Mia:
By car or taxi: Take exit
'Horconcito', about 40 Kms east of David on the Interamericana
highway then follow the indication to Boca Chica which you reach
after 18 km of secondary road.
In the village local fishermen will bring you by boat to our
resort (ca. 20 minutes at 30 Balboas).
By our private pick-up service:
From the international airport of David, transfer to Marina
Pedregal, at 5 minutes distance. From here our comfortable
taxi-boat (free snacks, wine, beer or sodas) brings you in an
unforgettable 50 minutes-ride to our hotel. The trip passes
through lagoons, mangroves, tidal-wetlands, estuaries, and on
the banks of the river you will be able to see indigenous
villages and their inhabitants tending their crops or fishing.
(This transport is for hotel-guests at cost: usd 300.- per trip
one way for 4 persons, each extra person usd 10.)
